Before you continue

Use the marked left alternate if the straight sandy climb demands more momentum or clearance than the group can control.

What catches people

The transition from high-traction rock to loose sand breaks momentum.

Conditions change it

Deep dry sand and queued vehicles make the straight climb harder.

Fit

Good articulation, clearance, approach angles, and low range; Grand County does not recommend this first section for ATVs.
